Keep each chapter’s scientific identity: a family, species, variety, trade label, rock and fossil are different kinds of names.
Mineral species
Jadeite jade can be green, white, lavender and other colors. A smooth cabochon may look simple, while the underlying texture and any treatment have a major effect on how it should be described.

Rock / aggregate
Nephrite jade is valued for its fine interlocking texture and softly polished surface. Green is familiar, but white, gray and other appearances also occur.
